Adverbs of frequency

Always, never, often, sometimes and usually are adverbs of frequency.

We use them with the Present Simple tense.

They describe how often something happens:

• Always – 100%;
• Usually – 90%;
• Often – 70%;
• Sometimes – 50%;
• Never – 0%.

In positive sentences in Present Simple, we put adverbs of frequency before the verb.

• My cat never sleeps on my bed because he always falls down.
